I am desperate and need an intelligent vet with common sense. My white husky dog (mix??? ) is due for a rabies vaccination before January, 2026. In 2023 my dog presented with strange respiratiory symtoms of intense episodes of both wheezing and/or coughing, with phlegm… One vet said it was kennel cough and put her on doxy… after one day on doxy she started coughing up massive amounts of bile, so I took her to another vet who said it was chronic bronchitis. and gave her prednisolone… I attempted those meds, but could only participate with natural supplements and herbs, etc….FAST FORWORD to approx January 2025 cough and phlegm mainly gone, but started to have myoclonus, then (fingers crossed) only one grand mal seizure in June, 2025… I treat her myself holistically, with just herbs mushrooms, & supplements. I would call her stable, except sometimes myoclonus tiggered by noises, ie. crunching cellephane or opening plastic bags, etc….After everything, I feel she should be exempt from any vaccines, including rabies. They do not except titer testing in the town in NJ I live in. She will be at least 14 iin April when she graced my life after abuse and neglect. . I will do anything for her, but I am on a liimited income of Social Security. I cannot afford a battery of neurological tests… I just went to a holisitc vet and he said he had to do titers. I paid him $300.00, but still own him $$. If anyone can tell me a sympathetic vet where I can get an obvious legitinmate exemption for something like this, without having to get tons of expensive tests I cannot afford, please let me know immediately. Thanks a million everyone. I will drive anywhere.
This happened to me at 21 years old with my first puppy. I just got him home after flying 3h and driving 4 more to pick him up and bring him back the same drive and flight home when after the first shots a few days later he got at the vet I got home, he walked happily into the kitchen, looked directly at me then fell over onto his side and had a very scary seizure š¢ my bf just left for work and couldnāt come back so I was alone, no driverās license (I never wanted to drive prior to this) and had to call a every taxi company to find one car that was willing to take extra tip to drive me back to the vet. After this I got my drivers license right away. One could say I grew up years that day. When puppies have seizures itās terrible, the look at you for help while foaming at the mouth and you canāt do ANYTHING to help them. The vet did nothing as well. We changed to a different vet after that. This was years before uber was even thought, more than 20 or so years back
