I have a sphynx….. a man made breed with different needs re skin and coats etc. Does a raw diet work for the sphynx?
Is it safe to get the raw meat from a grocery store which is not specific for cats, regarding bacteria and food handling process?
Just keep in mind that just because you see cats in the wild eating raw meat, this doesnt mean its tisk free. Cats have a lower risk of contracting diseases and parasites due to their shorter GI track and high stomach acidity, but that risk is NOT zero. Obligate carnivores die from bacterial infections from raw meat in the wild as well. Listeria, e.coli etc.
