Seizures in Dogs – Causes, Diagnosis and Treatment | Southeast Veterinary Neurology

A seizure is an abnormal burst of electrical activity in the brain. The cells that make up the brain, neurons, communicate with each other using electrical signals. A seizure is when there is too much electrical activity in the brain, all at the same time. When this happens, pets may fall on their side, may paddle their limbs, vocalize, urinate or defecate and salivate. Most seizures last anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes.

  3. All the tests they did on my Pomeranian shows that he is in perfect health, but he has now had two seizures. His diet is perfect, his living conditions are perfect, he has everything he wants and needs. That only leaves brain tumor, and at his age I’m not going to sedate him for an MRI orhave invasive exploratory surgery. QUESTIONI would really like to ease the severity of any future seizures.
